Info
E.J.Blackley & Son manufacture
and supply what are, when constructed probably the most authentic range
of pistol kits.
Please note that these pistol kits are not supplied ready to assemble. They
were originally intended for the gunsmith builder or hobbyist and therefore
require a degree of finishing and although not essential, a familiarity
to the workings of the flintlock mechanism. We use only the highest
quality raw materials when manufacturing the component parts for the kits,
including the correct colour "yellow" brass furniture.
The
Kits are supplied as follows:
The lock parts:
comprise of a full set of the highest quality steel castings. The springs
are hardened, tempered and fully tested. The Frizzen is
hardened and fitted. Remaining castings will require runners trimming.
Parts where necessary will require drilling/tapping (the taps are supplied).
The
furniture: is of the correct "yellow" brass (except the
Queen Anne which is silver).
The barrel: is profile turned and supplied with
breech plug or Frame fitted.
The stock: is presently supplied as a band sawn
Walnut blank on the Sea Service and Queen Anne and Dragoon Kits and requires all
profiling and inletting to accept the lock, barrel and furniture.
however the Dragoon now has the option of an Externally Profiled Stock.
Misc: Full set of screws, working plans, Ba and/or
Whitworth taps, ramrod dowel blank, hardening powder, walnut stain and
stock oil, flint and leather are also supplied.
There is a manual of instruction available with the Dragoon Kit.
(If
